Guy is a writer of short stories and is working on the drafts of a number of novels. Small Town Removal was placed third in the inaugural Costa Book Awards, short story prize in January 2013. Jamesy was commended in the 2011 Sean O’Faolain Prize. 22 Kilos was shortlisted for the Fish Short Story Prize 2012.

Pitchblende was a joint winner of the 2018 Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair.

The Cake and Condiment Fair Rules was longlisted for the 2016 Irish Writers  Centre Novel Fair.

Essex Road was longlisted for the 2014 Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair.

His current focus is the Saeculum science-fiction trilogy, a first-contact, space opera.

Guy has read at North West Words in Letterkenny, The Irish Writers Centre and at the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon, for the Sunday Miscellany recordings during the Donegal Bay and Bluestacks Festival.
